The development will be completed over five phases with the first seeing the building of a brand new state of the art production facility which will house the most technologically advanced machinery and production equipment on the market, enabling further development of skilled jobs and enhancement to the business.
IG Doors manufactures Composite Doors for a range of markets which includes the house building sector where it enjoys a market leading position supplying amongst others Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes, Redrow Homes, and Bloor Homes.
The new house building sector is expected to grow significantly in coming years, with an estimated 200,000 new homes per year needed to meet the demands of a growing population. IG Doors wants to be in a position to maximise the potential growth through the existing relationships it enjoys with the leading house builders in the country.
IG Doors has also been supplying the social housing sector with the highest specification security doors for over 30 years and continues to enjoy a significant share of market demand; in 2014 it entered the trade sector where there is rapidly growing demand with its brand new ‘Truedor’ range.
Last year the company enjoyed a turnover in excess of £29 million from its UK base showing growth for the eighth successive year and is looking for the investment to open up opportunities for it to export into Europe and beyond and in the long term creating employment opportunity in Wales. The development of the new production facility is the first phase of five planned for the site and will enable faster and more efficient manufacturing and provide more space for storage and distribution.
The company is owned by The Hörmann Group, a fourth generation European family owned business which specialises in the supply of doors to a range of markets and has made over 15 million door products since it began trading in 1935. The family currently owns 29 production facilities and around 80 distribution plants worldwide and turns over in excess of 1 billion Euros per annum.
